I’m writing this down as a reference for days I’m feeling down and stressed and lethargic and bummed out about the world

Little things that make life slightly more magical and great (a vomit-inducing, sentimental list):

-Hot tea with honey on a rainy day

-warm, sweet oatmeal on a cloudy morning

-listening to someone practice an instrument they love

-finding miscellaneous notes on the ground

-seeing someone’s eyes light up when they’re talking about something they’re passionate about

-someone personally sharing something they created with me

-prolonged, meaningful eye contact

-intellectually engaging conversations

-having a mode of connection with someone

-finding strong, common interests with someone

-fruit (apples and oranges and watermelon and strawberries and hell, I just love fruits)

-the smell of a kitchen while cooking

-the brewing smell of a coffee shop/café

-neck kisses

-palm kisses

-Miso soup

-Mochi

-Fan tuans

-Food’s just great

-cooking and baking for my family

-My Bloody Valentine’s Loveless

-And as of now, Elvis Depressedly’s Holo Pleasures (check the album out it’s super good)

-learning something curiously new every day through Radiolab

-not wearing a bra the entire day

-wearing round, cat-eye sunglasses

-new friendships

-reestablishing old friendships/catching up with old friends

-rebuilding a friendship that I managed to screw up

-sitting on the grass and drawing in my sketchbook/writing

-creating mix CDs

-the very nature of creating things

-sunny days with scattered clouds

-sifting through old photographs

-hanging out with my little sister whenever I go home

-hanging out with my rabbit in the backyard

-jogging

-having a surplus of micron pens

-rewatching favorite movies/tv episodes

-listening to the hollow night air

-night walks

jenny I'm feeling so sad ): my social/general anxiety is making me feel constantly depressed. I'm even afraid to draw, because I feel I won't be any good at it.

Ahhhhhhh there’s no concrete blueprint as to how to eradicate all anxiety out of your life

But from what I’ve learned thus far is that you are your own worst enemy and 99% of all your anxieties are fabricated delusions in your mind

You’re human and you are in a constant process of growing and learning through trial and error and overcoming depression isn’t going to happen overnight. I think one simple rule that we can apply here is to just constantly care for yourself and care for others, physically and mentally. You’ll find that becoming more comfortable and confident in your persona is a lot easier once you start making more of the conscious effort to do so.

Another thing that that helps your mindset is to maintain just a healthy lifestyle overall. Jogging, doing yoga, eating well (Cut the fast food. You’ll feel 10x better once you do). It sounds lame, but really, a healthy body equates a healthy mind, as I’m learning myself! I’m constantly making lifestyle changes as a means of improvement

And draw anyways. Especially if you think you’re bad at it.

Also everyone should read this if you’re constantly battling anxiety/self-consciousness it’ll give you warm fuzzies
